The Adventures of Us
Tonight when Ethan finished his dinner he said a new word! He said “gone” as he held his empty jar of food.
In his room he pointed at the chair and said clearly “chair”. He now says many words and is actually running around.
Ethan can crawl while holding a toy in one hand now! Sometimes it looks like more of a scoot as he crawls across the floor clutching his toy!
Roger passed away peacefully at 8:32am this morning. Family and friends were with him all night praying for him and comforting him. Both pastoral care and pastor (friend of the family) prayed with us over him.
His pneumonia complicated his breathing more in recent days and we decided it was time to honor his wishes. He was made very comfortable with sedative and pain killer medicine – and the breathing mask was removed. He slept and snored peacefully for many hours, his heart and breathing slowed and then stopped.
We thank God for Roger and all he has shared with us. God, please bless him with our love and yours…
On Tuesday, Grandpa Fournier, Ethan, and I went to the credit union and opened up a savings account and a college savings account for Ethan!
Today, June 25th, Ethan & I were visiting aunt Edith and she made him laugh aloud for the first time! It was very fitting that she should be the first to make him laugh, because she
Is such a bubbly person herself.
Ethan seems to love his new Rainforest Jumperoo that we got for him. He’s not quite tall enough for it yet, so Randy put a sturdy box underneath it so his feet touch the box and he can jump. The jumping is a little wobbly, but he seems to like it. If anything will induce his first real laugh, this will likely be it. It’ll either be this or Randy tickling him, which he just started responding to with big smiles
For now, this is another tool to keep him entertained for a few minutes at a time. Yeah!
